Sugar and Silk comprise of Danny Sugar (Bass) and Oli Silk (Keyboards).

Danny was born in Israel during January of 1979, where his musical career began playing piano at the age of 6. In 1987, Danny and his family moved to the UK. At the age of 14 he quickly reccognised a love for music but not for the keys, and so began to play the bass guitar in bands of ranging styles. Nurturing a natural gift for the instrument he also discovered a growing interest in music production.

Oli was born on March 7th 1979. At age eleven he began keyboard lessons, playing in variety shows and suchlike. The shows continued through his teenage years, alongside which he was guided through numerous London College of Music exams in Electronic Keyboards, passing all with honours. In his spare time, Oli had also kindled a love for Jazz and Soul music; and his playing style was beginning to reflect where he was heading musically. Studying music at school led Oli to choose the subject at college.

It was during 1996, whilst at college, that Oli and Danny first met. They struck an instant rapport and found a common interest in Jazz, which they quickly took to task by firstly joining a six-piece Rock/Jazz fusion band; and soon after, a twelve-piece soul covers outfit. Neither allowed the boys to truly express their skills and compositional ideas, and so they decided to embark on their own, separate, recording project ‘Sugar & Silk – Fact or Friction?’ which was released in October 2000.

Now, in 2002, Sugar & Silk are back in full groove with the release of their second album ‘Duality’, set to further amplify the influence of British music.

Soul Brother Records/Smooth Jazz Reviews:

‘UK Smooth Jazz of the highest quality that improves every time you hear it. Nice version of Kenny Loggins “Love Will Follow” feat.John Reid and the vocal “Real Love” feat Paula Crawford. Best smoothies are “Duality”, “ATS” and the funky fusion of L’Austin’s Pace. '

Amazon.co.uk:

'Excellent, can’t stop playing it! I loved the Sugar and Silk debut album and have been looking forward to their next release. ‘Duality’ has been worth waiting for – The sound is more mature and the collaboration with the vocalists on several songs makes this album even more enjoyable. Highly recommended.'
